Ming Wong, Pacific Notebooks
Ming Wong of Pacific Notebooks is scamming everyone in Greater Toronto Area! Stay away and be warned!!! (Greater Toronto Area)

Internet & Web

I had a misfortune of dealing with Ming Wong and Pacific Notebooks.

I want to warn everybody, so that Ming Wong cannot victimize anyone else. Do not deal with Pacific Notebooks!

I bought a notebook from Pacific Notebooks a while back (before I learned about the Rip-off-Report).

I was dealing with Ming Wong, who turned out to be the owner of Pacific Notebooks (as I learned later, when I demanded to complain to the "manager"). Stupid me! Beware, in those small computer stores the owner, the manager, and the salesman are often one and the same. Which means that you have nobody to complain to "higher up".

I was shopping for a notebook and found one I liked on Pacific Notebooks website www.pacificnotebooks.com

Ming Wong told me that notebook was on display in their Markham store and I should come to check it out. I didn't like their store the moment I saw it. They just had two counters where people could talk to a saleman, but no stock at all. They had no customers. I found myself wondering how those guys could be making any money. It just didn't look right.

When I came, Ming Wong started discussing the notebook with me, and what a good deal it was. But when I asked to see it, he said that I misunderstood him and that he would actually have to order the notebook from the warehouse for me to see it.

So I agreed to order it. And here Ming Wong sucked me to leave a "deposit" to order the notebook! Ming Wong assured me that it was just to make sure that I was "serious", as some customers would order stuff and then never show up for it. Ming Wong said I didn't have to buy the notebook if I didn't like it. So as long as I showed up, he would return my deposit if I didn't want to buy the notebook after seeing it.

I will be honest here. I was sucked partially because of the price. I was shopping around for a notebook for quite a while and never seen such a good deal as what Ming Wong offered me. I knew I would never get a deal like that anywhere else. Warning: if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is! I learned it the hard way!

So I came back to Pacific Notebooks a week later. Ming Wong produced a sealed box and asked me to pay! What the f*ck?! I was supposed to see the notebook and decide if I wanted to buy it! Ming Wong refused, telling me the box was "factory sealed" or some other bullshit. We got into somewhat of an argument. He was insisting that he wasn't "allowed" to open the box.

He also changed his story about my deposit. He started saying I would lose my deposit if I didn't buy the notebook (because it was already ordered and shipped).

So I had to either lose my entire deposit or buy what sounded like a good notebook at a very good price. So I bought it.

When I brought it home, I discovered the screen had dead pixels and there were some scratches on the notebook. And from its general condition, I could tell it was refurbished. The price might have been good for a new notebook, but it was actually quite expensive for a refurbished item with dead pixels and scratches.

I was raving mad! I went back to the Pacific Notebooks store (and my wife went with me too, as she was also quite pissed). I would spare you all the details. We were yelling at Ming Wong, Ming Wong was yelling at us. My wife almost broke down in tears there. I could hardly control myself from punching this asshole into the face. I threatened to sue, and he responded quite confidently that I had no proof of anything.

It looked like Ming Wong was scamming and screwing people for a while, and I wasn't the first unsuspecting customer he screwed. He already had everything figured out, including the wording on the sales invoice, so that I had no legal recourse. He told me (with a big smile) that the last customer who sued him ended up paying his court costs! What an asshole!

That's how Ming Wong and Pacific Notebooks stay in business, by ripping people off!

Hopefully nobody will be victimized by Ming Wong and Pacific Notebooks again after reading this Rip-off-Report!
