Videotron Illico
Illico Deception

Internet & Web

Being a Videotron customer for many years and being happy with their Telemax service they called me up to ask if i would like the Illico service, i said i had no problems with telemax but she went on to say that Illico would give me over 100 basic channels plus i could choose 20 optional channels for the same price i am now paying for Telemax, plus she said the Illico box was now $100 a $50 rebate and a technician would come and install everything, it all sounded good to me so i said OK.So over comes the technician who spoke not a word of English, he did the connection and gave me a user guide that is technically way over my head. after i figured out how it worked i settled back to watch TV, at first it was great but after 3 days all the channels started to disappear leaving me with basically 100 channels of useless content 90% of which was all in French, now comes the 20 optional channels i can choose which forces me to choose channels i already had with Telemax, so my options were channels i thought would be basic, for example ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, MM, Hist, Disc, CNN, TSN, A&E, Fox, TLC, Bravo, YTV, CMT, Space. I basically got 2 or3 channels more after it was all said and done and i still cant figure out how to operate my VCR with the new system and no one on their 90% French tech line seems to know either.
If you have telemax now the only reason i can see for going to Illico is if you want HDTV otherwise its just a more complex version of" 6 of one" half a dozen of the other

Pricing Scam, ripoff, promised bill credit, would not issue credit that was promised unless I signed a contract, they had stated initially that I would NOT have to sign a contract to get the credit
