Unfortunately, Mademoiselle was my first 'fitness' experience. Before my contract ended, I personally talked to the person in charge that I could not attend any longer due to reoccurring headaches, and that I would like to cancel and would not be renewing my contract in January.

May 21st I received a call from Head Office stating that they could not access my Visa and that I owed $90., and if I wouldn't pay, the matter would go through a collection agency. The same litany was repeated that the contract states that it must be a written cancellation and that a letter was sent to me. I did not receive any such letter and when the man stated my address over the phone, the address number was incorrect. Again, he repeated they would go through a collection agency. When I signed up with Madmoiselle, this pertinent information should have been mentioned, stressed. I paid the $90.

After payment, the young employee stated that I should call them in two weeks to make sure everything was okay. This smacks of incompetence. It is a cold, uncaring company, and this is reflected in the attitude of some of the young staff. The moral of the story, is to not to sign any fitness contracts, and pay as you go, and of course, to read, and re-read the contract carefully. I wonder how much money Madmoiselle has collected over the years under such questionable circumstances? Regardless, I was not impressed with the quality, attitude, lack of professionalism of this outfit!
