RUDE, RIP-OFF, DIshonest. Signed a cancellation of my membership but keep on charging my visa. Refusing to take my calls

I signed up for this gym, (against my gut-feel as they appeared to me to be slimy)... they were dishinest from the first week.

They assured me that since i was a tourist, if i had to go back to England, they would allow me to terminate my membership with only 1 month's notice.

a few months later, I did need to leave Canada. I spoke with the manager who had singed me up. He agreed and signed my termination forms, promising that the automatic deductions from my VISA would cease.

When I kept getting charged, inspite of the agreement, I called them. The manager they said was no longer working there. The manager of another branch, Dave Ryzinski, was supposed to deal with it.

I called about 9 times until he called me back. He said he would check and revert, he never got back or returned my further calls. When I went in to see him, he refused to speak to me, other than to say the refund is being processed - he was very rude! They have never refunded me, BUT KEEP TAKING monthly charges - its been 6 months, they even lied to my lawyer who spoke with them, telling him they were going to refund the money and stop additional charges.

BEWARE OF THIS GYM!!! [While I have the legal wheels in motion, this has been a huge inconvenience, (especially from England)].

Don't join this gym, whatever you do!!
