A Ripp-Off!

The long story starts when my wife and I moved back to Canada after living in England. Since my wife only had a british credit card, we used that to sign her up. A few months later, I decided to join the club at which point I also asked that my wife's payments come off of my credit card since her british card was being cancelled. I was assured this was going to be done.

It never was. For several months I was charged NSF fees since the club would try to charge her British credit card (that had since been cancelled) instead of charging to mine. Stupidly and due to lazyness I paid it every time thinking they would resolve the issue.

After my wife's contract expired, she was charged over $100 for a month to month fee. Apparently this fee is charged automatically when someone's contract expires, but without notice. Furious at what had happened, I went to the club where I was told (and a paper was signed) that in compensation, I would be let out of the last two months of my own contract. For two months I was not charged. Then in Sept. I was charged once more for the 2 months I had been let out of.

I called the club and was told on more then one occasion that although they had agreed not to charge me for the last two months, and although one of their employees signed a form to that effect, that I was wrong. Their words were 'it doesnt matter what you were told and what we signed. We will not return your money'

I have written letters to the owner and left at least 20 messages for the accounting office manager. None of the communication has been returned.

Please... DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB! If you have had similar problems with them, contact the Better Business Bureau, write your story here, and tell send your stories to newspapers and news channels as I now have.
