Cyberlink Power Director
Unresolved Technical Issue

Games & Gaming process

Purchased Power Director in early Sept. 2011, Spend the next two weeks putting together a video. I was happy with the program features & speed. Unfortunately when I tried to burn to DVD it would advance to anywhere between 93% to 97% complete & then hang. This would happen whether I chose to burn to a DVD or to a folder. On Sept. 16 I contacted their support & to date Oct. 31) the issue if anything is worse than before. Their support went through the usual "What brand is your computer, how much memory, brand/make of DVD, latest drivers etc etc. etc, My computer was a brand new Dell less than a month old. This progressed to a series of try this/try that phase all to no avail, In fact in one instance I had to restore my system to a prior date. Their latest suggestion included the following and I quote "We suggest you try to clean the temp folder and modify some clips or change Menu template to see if problem persists... and empty your Recycle Bin. I spent a great deal of time trying to make this work and finally asked for a refund. They first refused because it was past their 30day refund policy. Can you imagine that? Their support cannot solve the issue, delays responding days and a week at the time and then they refuse because more than 30 days have elapsed. A rather convenient way never to refund. When I insisted they then refused because I bought their software at a re-seller rather than directly from them. STAY AWAY & SAVE YOUR MONEY. Too bad because Power Director is a pretty good application.
