I received a check in the mail with a letter saying I had won $53, 400. The check was for $3, 382.45 supposedly for taxes. I haven't cashed the check I just went to my bank and to the local police department to see if It was a scam, and it is. Just wanted to report this and get it out in the public, this scam has damaging effects on people's credit, bank accounts, and police history if they go along with the scam. The account and routing # on the check are valid and the bank the check is written off of is Wells Fargo. It looks completely legite.
