Sent a check for $3, 950 that looks legit. ITS A SCAM!

If you get a check with a claim number in a letter saying to deposit the check they sent and wait 2-3 days and call them back... they don't ask for any info regarding your checking/savings account which makes it seem legit, also the check seems legit it's not. The check has nothing on it saying it's not a real check and is also from a viable bank (wells fargo). So, until my husband and I got online and checked to see if there were any reports as far as it were concerned... I was going to take it to the bank tonight and deposit it. I'm glad I didn't. We checked the bank (although I told my husband that Wells Fargo was a legit bank), bank is legit. Then we searched Johnson Financials and then came all the claims of scams. Mostly in Ontario, which is where our fake check originated from. Please if your reading this... toss your check or take it to your local police office and report it. Or maybe even do so on here, I am on the other hand, going to keep this one, and if a lawyer or company contacts me I will have it for future reference. Thank you. And good luck.

Also-I asked the lady on the phone when I called to tell her I had the letter what companies were having the giveaways and she said it may have been walmart, j.c. penny's, etc. Well I thought maybe because I got a thing from walmart with my receipt saying I'd been entered in a drawing/sweepstakes.
