Credit Card is a ripoff that makes false promises

I was contacted by Monica from "First Capital" about the fact that my application for a credit card had been re-reviewed and approved for a Mastercard with a $2000.00 credit limit. It would have a 0% interest rate for the first 6 months and then 4.9% Fixed APR after that. There was a processing fee of $199.00.I had filed an application with a "First Capital" a few weeks before this and thought this was great. I forked over my checking account information and was told it would take about 2 weeks for me to get the card. I waited. The money was withdrawn from my account. After two weeks I had received nothing. I attempted to call and check on the status of the card. I would only get to a voice-mail box promising to call me back within 24 hours. After having left 10 voice-mails I never received a call back, but I did receive a package in the mail with a coupon book and a bunch of pieces of paper with various "bargains" on them. And then the final insult! An application to obtain a "credit" card that I had to put the money on in order to spend it! I called another 6 times with no luck. I found them on consumer complaintss and filed. The next day I finally got through to a live person at first capital consumer. They told me they would refund my money. but I had to mail the package back to them first. Then wait for at least a week to get a confirmation letter from them that they received the package. Then fax that letter along with my bank statement showing the money they took out and a letter explaining why I felt like I should get a refund. These people need to be taken to jail and locked up for a long time!!! Do not let yourself get caught by them. RogerMarion, Texas
