Winning Processing Center
WOW! these folks are good and crooked

Education & Science

I received a letter on OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) a legitimate office, but the letterhead is forged. The letter was delivered from the Wining Processing Center in British Columbia.

The letter states I won the sweepstakes? but I have never entered a sweepstakes, and that I had won $4800.00. A check was enclosed for this amount, and I'm here to tell you that the check appears to be authentic right down to the signature and account number.

It then states that I need to go to Western Union Money Gram and send them $2800.00 to pay government applicable taxes.

What's really strange is that it says to cash the check in order to pay the fee.

The check is from a legitimate company in Tennessee, and is drawn on a the Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati. All the addresses on the check are authentic.

Just one small problem here. As there is a Fifth Third Bank very close to my home, I took it to them, and even they couldn't tell if the check was phony at that time. They said they had to contact the company who's name is on the check.

In other words this check is so good, that the bank couldn't discern if it's real or not.

I can almost 100% guarantee it's bogus.

If you're dumb enough to deposit this check into your account and then send them $2800.00, well guess what... you've been had.

Like I said, these folks are good.

By the way, there is a phone number in the letter that says to call Mike White, at (416) 357-8734 to expedite your claim. This is a real Canadian exchange, but what you'll get is an unattended voice mail box, and a recording stating the individual has not activated his account.

Good Luck Folks
