1st Credit Of America Account Now Handled By Omega Direct Reponse or ConnectOne, MyPerfectCredit scam continues RIPOFF Toronto

I sent letters to both MyPerfectCredit and 1st Credit of America disputing my debt, asking for verification. They were all received, but no one ever responded to my request. I also sent 1st Credit of America a cease and desist letter, which they did not comply to until weeks after it was received. I say "comply, " but I read in an interview that it is their policy to "cease collection attempts and review the account" after said amount of time.

It now appears that my account has been handed off to Omega Direct Response. Though they are primarily a marketing firm, they also handle "initial collections." They never answer the phone, but do call several times a day, just like their predecessor. How clever.

Does anyone know if Canadian companies are bound by the FDCPA. If they are, is it actually enforceable? I would like to hear if anyone else has been contacted by this company.
