False warnings against software viruses

This company called today to tell us we had viruses on our home computer and that we should download their software. The man said he was associated with Microsoft. My husband asked him on which computer we had the virus and he said "oh you have more than one", my husband replied yes, we have 3. The man said "oh, the viruses will be the same on all computers". First - this is very unlikely because we have 3 computers, 2 of which are mac and are not supported by microsoft - 1st red light. 2nd - why and how did he get our information - we would call if we had a problem - 2nd red light. The man they told my husband who was asking an amazing amount of questions "don't send any money over the internet using your credit card - because when you do, your computer is sending out virsus to legitimate websites". This is such bull it is not even funny - 3rd red light. I asked my techs at the office, they found this all to be a scam and here is the number the man told us to call back to Mr. Johnson at 208-639-2222. Not sure how they got our home phone number - but they got it somehow. Maybe when I re-registerd our domain name 2 days ago?? HMMM beware!
