Dishonest information

I went Superstar for alignment today. They told me that alignment for 2 wheels for $50 and 4 wheels for $90 but they need to inspect my car first in order for a correct quote. They put my car on the alignment machine and said they were "checking the tires" I kept asking them and making sure they know I need to know the results first before they do anything.

After about 30 mins, a guy told me my car can't not be aligned due to my shock's problem and asked for $45. I said nothing is done why should i pay for it? Then he said he did adjust the steering wheel for me and now the steering wheel is back to its normal position. I asked him, should alignment be adjusting the "wheel" in stead of steering wheel? And I asked him is the wheel adjusted. He answered me that my wheel could not be adjusted and the purpose of "alignment" is not fixing the wheel position but to check it.

By the way, he kept saying how much he spent on the alignment machine and how little he charged me. I mean there was nothing actually done. And how can he charge $50 for adjustment and $45 for inspection without telling me ahead?

I end up paid them 45 and left with disappointment. I think he should tell me my shock's problem before he actually did anything on my car.
