Honda Canada
Transmission Failures

Cars & Transport

I own a 1999 Honda Odyssey. In November 2006 a light on my dashboard (TCS) came on and stayed on. I took the van to the dealer and they informed me that my transmission needed to be replaced. They covered the cost because there was a recall. I still had to pay $367 for some parts. They replaced the transmission with a re-built transmission. The re-built transmission lasted 14 months (20, 000kms) and now my van is at the dealer again. Now they want to charge me $3500 to get another re-built transmission in the van. It looks like they put in some crappy transmission just to get me over the expiry date on my warranty. The total cost of the transmission is 4500 and honda canada is offering $1000 rebate. They will not even consider anything else. I will not be buying any Honda vehicles anymore.
