Received a letter today stating FINAL NOTICE We have made unsuccessful attempts to contact you regarding your Consumer Rewards Program winning. In accordance with the Consumer Rewards Program Commission policy, your prize award money has been forwarded to our clearing disbursement institution to release your funds to you. Your lump sum payout is US $9, 700.00 (NINE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS) congratulations. Kindly contact agent Pamela Hayes at 1-905-598-4046 as soon as you receive this notice for further instructions on how to claim your grand winning. We have enclosed a check in the letter. Per your state regulations, you will be required to pay a tax and processing fee before your lump sum winning can be sent to you. Payment will be made directly to your tax agent. you will also need to fax your tax payment receipt to the fax number above. Many problems with this letter. That NUMBER IS NOT A FAX NUMBER, That tells me i'ts small company not corp. no return address on envelope. Is not signed but is printed T. Maronne PROMOTION MANAGER. Went online to check out company-didn't find a company, just complaints about it-SCAM- They told me to cash the check. Then call back for tax package for filing (1099) The check says (on the top border) This check is void without a red & gray border and background Plus Knight & fingerprint watermark on the back. Guess what? no red on border, I don't have a black light but I will take to my banker to show to. They said I either filled out a survey online or at one of the participating stores. BS I did no such thing. Sorry I don't know how to post things on my computer.
