Beware if you buy a puppy from this kennel

Beware if you buy a puppy from Alabon Country Kennels and "Bill" the owner. We bought a chocolate lab from him and were given a one year health guarantee that the puppy was free from genetic health issues.

3 weeks after we got the puppy she started having health problems. She lost her appetitie, had neck problems, poor balance. Eventually she lost her sight, hearing, sense of smell and could not stand on her own. We called the breeder begging him to help us, to refund our money as his health check stated, and we got no where with him. We took the puppy to his vet, our vet and an emergency clinic. Over $2000 later and after 2 weeks of vets, syringe feeding and plenty of tears watching this poor puppy get worse we finally had her put to sleep.

The vet has told us that she had water on the brain. This is caused by genetic problems that lead to the water on the brain. We have suffered so much with the loss of the puppy and watching her suffer. We don't want anyone else to buy from this breeder and suffer like we have.

3 years ago another family spent over $5000 on vet bills for one of Alabon (Bill's) puppies and ran into the issues we are having. Better Business Bureau could not get him to respond, he would not refund their money.

We have threatened to go to the news, Better Business Bureau etc. with the story and he has told us to do what we want - that he won't refund our money. Please let others know so they don't buy from this breeder.
