Did not provide services, refuses to refund

Migration Expert had no problem charging me $399 in Australian dollars for help with Canadian immigration. Total charge $415.33 The original charge was on 1/29/2009.

To date I have not received any services from migration expert. However, because I logged in two times on their website, they say that I utilized their service.

My first login was to attempt to cancel their service. As I decided that I was not migrating to Canada after all. The option was "greyed out" and was not an option.

I immediately emailed Migration expert in attempts to cancel the service on 1/30/2009, Of course I also contacted American Express since they usually stand by their customer and in this case was a mistake (filing another report against them next). My 1st dispute with American Express was also on 1/30/2009.

American Express suggested that I try and resolve it with the merchant directly and although my first email was ignored, I emailed migration expert a second time on 2/8/2009. On 2/09/2009 I received a message saying to logon to my account and read my messages. I was given the option to fill out a refund request. Which I did and faxed as request. This request was also ignored. A subsequent login to my account would inform me that my account was cancelled and I was locked out. To this date, still never heard anything from migration expert. They violated their own contract as they didn't provide me ANY services.

Their contract stated they would provide me online counseling and by telephone. I don't need these services, but they didn't provide them to me. They were supposed to provide me with personalized applications and documents, they didn't provide these either.

So here it is 5/6/2009 and 4 disputes later and I still do not have my refund or services (which I don't want anyway). But do think I am entitled to a full refund since they didn't provide services to me.

I tried to do the right things, and ended up frustrated and out $415.33. Migration Expert provided login logs of my account and on the other side of the log someone else's private information, and sent me copies of both, violating privacy acts (I am sure). American Express is guilty of violating privacy as well, as they forwarded this private information along with their letter of declining my dispute.

I am writing this report, to stop others from getting Ripped off from this company. If this company were legitimate, they would refund charges for services that were obviously not rendered
