If it sounds too good to be true it probably is

My husband received this "final notice" from TD Financial with a check for $4, 950 drawn on Southern Commerce Bank in Bradenton, Florida--first red flag. I called TD Financial and was instructed to deposit the check and call them back within one-half hour. Meanwhile, I called the company name on the check--Mike Carter Construction, Inc., in Bradenton, Florida. They told me that TD Financial has hacked into their website and stolen their bank information. They have cancelled the checking account so the check should not go through. Though the check looks quite legitimate, it is signed by non-other than Dwight D. Eisenhower--big RED flag!

Needless to say, I did not deposit the check. Carter Construction is planning to sue TD Financial, and is in the process of collecting data. I mailed the original check and the letter to them today.

I wish them luck in getting this company. The upshot of the deal is that if you are able to cash or deposit the check, TD Financial then requests that you return a portion of the $$4, 950 to them. In exchange, they will send you the balance of your $450, 000 winnings.

For those people who did cash the check--many of them low income, they now probably are libel for a portion of the money that they kept. White collar crime is NOT victimless. That is why these people and others like them need to be stopped.
