Bulk Barn
STALE CORN NUTS! Not fully refunded

My wife purchased some cornuts and gift bags at The New Minas Bulk Barn a couple of days before Christmas. She placed some of them in one of the gift bags because they were to be a Christmas gift (for me).

On Christmas morning as I was about to open the gift I smelled the gift and it smelled rancid. I proceeded to open them and sure enough they were bad, spoiled or whatever you might say, but, definatley unedible!

A couple days later, I went back to the place of purchase with the full quantity of corn nuts and the gift bag that was also purchased for them. I walked in and headed for the corn nut bin, opened it and sure enough the nuts inside it were also rancid! I proceeded to a checkout where I was told they'd refund the cost of the corn nuts but not the gift bag because it had been USED! I asked to speak with a manager and when she came up, she said they would NOT refund the money for the gift bag because it had been used. I advised her that it was purchased to place the corn nuts in because afterall they were a gift, and also that it wasn't our problem that THEY had a bin full of bad merchandise. I took the money for the returned corn nuts and left feeling ripped off!

I have purchased a lot from them in the past but, have no intentions of returning there to do business with them again. The gift bag mind you wasn't very expensive but my point is... why did I as a consumer pay in the end for a gift bag that was ruined by something THEY themselves placed in a bin for sale and in the end removed the bin of corn nuts from the sales floor?
