Similar to other reports I have read, I received a phone call from Natasha Bernard from Executive Solutions Inc. saying that the Senior VP has reviewed my resume and would like to meet with me.

I met with Brian J. Hodgins, and after a few minutes into the interview, the questions were ringing alarm bells. He asked the following questions:

- Am I married?
- What is my spouse's name?
- What does my spouse do for a living?
- How old am I?

I questioned him on why he needed to know this information, and he said that he likes to get to know his clients as much as possible. I answered them reluctantly, but should have said goodbye at this point. If any of this information was used in decision-making, I believe this would be considered illegal in Canada.

He said they were very selective of clients (jobseekers) that they take on and only a few get asked back for the second interview, and even fewer are taken on as clients afterwards.

I then filled in the survey, while he stepped out to speak with his colleagues on my resume. He came back, and said that my skills were very much in demand and that he would like to meet for a second interview with my spouse!

Again, this sounded very bizarre to me for me to bring my spouse, and he explained that seeing the two of us interact, and ensuring we were aligned would help reduce any job conflicts in the future. He would have people do further research for me and would have this information for me for our next meeting.

I never gained a clear understanding of what exactly this company would be doing. Mr. Hodgins would say things like there are 5 key things to finding a job... but would only explain 3.

I fortunately decided not to return for the second interview based on the unprofessional questions during the first interview. He tried to convince me otherwise, saying things like, you could have a $200, 000 opportunity cost if you don't find a job. The fact that this company charges a fee for the services did not come up in the first interview; I only found out after reading other canada-complaints.com. Typical recruiters get paid by the employers, but I realize he was trying to sell "career management".

Please be aware, if you do receive a call for an interview with this company and person, I would forget about it.
