My husband was sent a "Trip Reward Notification" in the mail a couple of days ago. The letter came with a check from Citi Bank, and the instructions on the letter read to deposit the check and pay for the taxes when the prize money gets here. My lucky man had also won a cruise to boot. We sat on the notification and contimplated about whether or not it was a scam.

After a period of waiting we decided to contact the number on the letter. A man with a thick french accent took the call, and informed my husband that in a couple of days he would be receiving a package sent certified mail, and that he would need to send the $950.00 as instructed in the package. The man also said that there would be two checks coming from two different sponsors.

I called the number on the letter to see how the telephone was answered, and a man answered the phone. He answered mumbling his name, but neither Plus Financial or NAVS was mentioned in his blurb. I said nothing and then hung up. About two minutes had passed and my phone rang, and it was Plus Financial Services. What business calls back and asks if you just called?

I decided to look up Plus Financial and nothing came up. When I looked up North America Vacationers Sweepstakes on the internet I was linked to this website and guess what my husband and I were almost victims of this scam.
