I was having the worst Monday ever, husband and kids were running a muck, my bank account was at 0 and I thought my prayers were answered I opend the mail to find a letter and a check for $3, 900.00

The letter was from Monet Systems Inc. from their Internationial claims department

The letter stated I won The North American Prize Pool in the 2nd category and I was drawn from over 500, 000 names selected through a random computer ballot system.

The odd thing was that is was made out to my madien name and I have been married for over 7 years. My first thought was this was to good to be true. But of course I saw that I was a winner of a total prize of $100, 000.00 and my mind started racing of all the bills I was so looking foward to paying off and all the new stuff I could finally afford.

So being slightly sceptical I dialed the number stated to call Tamera Bangul (client care manager) and a foriegn mans voice answered. He told me to go to my bank and cash the check and western union 3, 100.00 in processing fees to a Terry Collins at 2426 Power Spring Rd - Atlanta GA 30064 so he could overnight the $96, 100.00in winnings to me. I then knew it was B.S. but feeling desperate for the $$$$. The cashiers check was drawn at Sun Trust Bank, so I did it I drove to this bank and tried to cash the check for $3, 900.00. Well when I got there they called to validate the check and I found out even though there was a watermark it was counterfeit. So then I called back the number on the letter and told them that the check had been confiskated by the police. All this guy said was that he did not believe this and that it never happeded before and that he was going to tranfer me to his manager. Well his manager's line was a dial tone.

Please note if this kind of mail comes your way just throw it away! If it sound to good to be true it is! I think now what would of happened if I did cash it at my bank or a check cashing company and it cleared and then they found out that I cashed a counterfeit check, I would probly wound up in prision and my kids in foster care and god only knows! I am glad I never got a dime of the fake winnings! The moral of my story is listen to your gut! Do not be stupid!
