International Clearing Commission House - Jim Nelson
, Clearing Commissary Agent Fraudulent claim to lottery winnings. ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

On November 13, 2006 I received a mailing from "International Clearing Commission House" stating that I was 3rd Grand Prize Winner for the amount of $100, 000.

Thinking this sounded quite "fishy, " decided to get on the internet to see if I could find out any information and "lo and behold" there was Lisa from Ohio's consumer complaints that sounded very similar to the same letter I had received. The only difference being a different city in Canada, mine being from Ontario and a different bank on which the check was written, mine being from Chase in Phoenix, Arizona and drawn on the account of one Pointe South Mountain Resort at 7777 S. Pointe Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85044.

The letter, as with Lisas, included a check of similar amount for $2, 995.00 with description of what the money should be used for (to cover insurance, handling, duty and taxes fees) with the promise that once these fees were paid that I would receive my winnings by certified cashiers check within 24 hours.

To my husband and myself, this smelled like a scam from the beginning. I suppose the profit for them in all of this is that the check (bogus) is cashed and the money is sent to them to pay the proprosed fees noted above and then the check comes back on you as fraudulent and you have to pay the money back to the bank at which you cashed the check.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! This is a realistic-appearing scam. And, thanks Canada-Complaints.com - canada-complaints.com for being available so that we can warn others of rip offs like this.
