Fraudulent company, take money, never delive

I ordered two pairs of slippers Dec. 19, 2002 and sent check for 34.44. The check was promptly cashed, the goods never delivered. Tried to phone the number given in the ad and was advised that the phone number is not in service.

Then I tried to look up the company on the internet and found over 1200 complaints, eight of them since yesterday, Feb. 19, 2003.

The company goes back to 1993, many complaints found in 2000-2001. Why can they not be put out of business?
