Unauthorized charge to my account

Upon receiving my ebill from HBC I found a totally unauthorized charge for $22.39 dated Apr 25 2011 with the item being described as Memberworks, Toronto, Canada. As I live in Vancouver and rarely use my HBC credit card, I immediately called customer service at the Bay. They didn't even ask my name and knew immediately what I was talking about. I said I was outraged at this charge as I have many times said no, in no uncertain terms, to the telemarketering people who try to sell this insurance over the phone.

The customer service rep said I needed to call 1 877 680 8948 myself to look into this charge only to find they don't pick up on weekends. I phoned the Privacy number for the Bay and tried to complain but they kept deflecting responsibility to this Memberworks. Clearly, they don't care what this scam does to the HBC reputation. I will try to get rid of this charge to my account and will close my HBC credit card which I have had for as long as Bay credit cards were available.
