Surety Trust, Inc., Fidelity International Lotto, Looking back at the letter I have to laugh: "Surety"..."Trust"..."Fidelity"... sounds like the beginning of a bad commercial!

Received a letter and a check for $4, 720 from "Surety Trust, Inc." informing me I had hit the jackpot- $250, 000 in their random computer drawing! Their 'partners' included some biggies: Intel Group, MicroSoft, WalMart, Sears, Ford, GM, and Heineken Promotions. Everything looked on the up and up. After being instructed by phone to 1. go to my bank and deposit this check, 2. call them back; 3. I would be instructed how to have my tax agent pay $2, 950 in (Canadian) taxes; and 4. my $250, 000 check would be delivered the very next day but someone over the age of 18 had to be home to sign for it.

Well, that was it. My knees were weak. I had my coat on to go to the bank but because of my husband's skepticism, I decided to chack out the company on-line. I had SO wanted this to be legit!!! With our daughter's wedding just 2 weeks away, this was a dream cme true!

After findng out the truth, I called them back. I was ticked off but stayed professional and conversational. Interestingly, when I told them what they were going to tell me to do next... the line went dead... and it wasn't just a 'dropped' call either. Oh well, back to making payments on the wedding for the next two years!
