Received a letter from Liberty Financial Inc stating I had won the 2008 North American Sweepstakes Lottery held on July 25th in the 2nd category. Check was sent for $ 4, 980.00 to cover taxes, however in bold (red) print it stated the taxes were only $ 3, 980.00 to be paid by Moneygram or Western Union. I was instucted to contact Mr. James Adams @ 905-781-1531 for further clarification and instructions. Contacted the number and was told by the female that answered the cell phone that Mr. Adams was not in the office at the time, she asked if this was my first time calling, I informed her that it was. She instructed me to deposit the check into my bank account and once the funds were available to contact them again for final instructions. The check was issued from First State Bank & Trust, 155Th & Hwy 24, Basehor, KS 66007, for the account of Southern Kansas Tele. Co. Inc. which will be my next points of contact to make them aware of the situation.
