New Scam Old Story

I was suspicious right from the beginning because I don't enter sweepstake contests. So when I received an exact duplicate of the letter that has been posted on this site regarding this company, my first reaction was, "What's the catch? "

The letter came in a plain white envelope with no return address, my address was printed on a label and the envelope had a postage stamp on it. In short the letter didn't look official. I reasoned that on some off chance I had won a contest, I would be contacted via registered mail.

I was impressed with how legimate the check looked and the fact that it was made out to my name and then I read the letter. I had already determined that I wasn't going to be sending any of my money anywhere or giving out my social security number.

Reading the instructions, regarding paying $2985.00 taxes on $250, 000 (my winning) to the government via either Moneygram or Western Union was crazy. Instead, I called the Marshall & Ilsley Bank, Milwaukee, Wisconsin the bank the check appeared to be drawn on to confrim whether Mutual F.S. Inc ready had an account with them. They didn't. Scam artists are theives.
