Check Scam

Miscellaneous

My 14 year old son recieved a $3500.00 check in the mail. I figure it was a scam because the check didn't even have his correct name on it.

I did some research online and found this website.
The scam basically wants you to be a secret shopper at several stores and you get to keep the merchandise along with $300.00 and to send the other $3200.00 back via Western Union or a money gram to either Jennet Howard or Terry Edward in Niagara Falls, NY.

I do plan on reporting this to the postal service and possibly the bank on which the check was drawn on. I am glad there is a site like this to warn consumers of the many scams out there.
