Peak Financial
Sweepstake Draw scam for Canadian Non-Resident Government Service Tax

Miscellaneous

I received a letter stating that I had won a Sweepstakes Draw of $125, 000.00. Enclosed was a check for $4, 700 to be deducted from my winnings to cover a Canadian Non-Resident Government Service Tax. I was instructed to call Bill Jacobs and that he would further instruct me.

I was told to deposit the check into my bank and then call him back so that it would be activated. He said I would need to keep the claim number so that when I received my winning check of over $120, 000.00, I would be able to give it to the Fed Ex. deliverer to receive my check.

After depositing my check I would be required to wire $3675.00 to Tax Agent Jan Wilson 5482 Hill Avenu7e, Toronto Ontario, M6N 2V8, Canada.

I checked all the information on the letter, the name of the company, the return address on the check and finally found you guys. I am very thankful that there is a site like yours... I am sure it saved me a lot of $$ and troubles!

The was no Peak Financial in Palestine, Il (the address on the check). There was however a Region Bank (the bank the check was written on). So close...
