Failed to pay me for 5 weeks work, vacation pay & statement of earnings

This company bounced 2 paychecks on me after working away from home (hotel) in frigid conditions & long workdays. These bounced checks totaled a month of work. The company also failed to pay me for my last weeks work with them, so a total of 5 weeks unpaid. The company also owes me a substantial amount of vacation pay to which they have also failed to pay.

I called the company several times (cell & office) & got no answer. I strongly feel they are avoiding contact with me. I discovered the company owners residential address & called him at his home. I asked him why he hasn't paid me or sent me a statement of earnings so I may apply for EI & was verbally scolded for calling his residential phone. He refused to discuss the matter & told me to call the office the next day for an explanation.

The next day I called the office and the phone number was out of service. I called his cell phone & he answered. I asked him about my monies & statement of earnings & he said he was sending me a letter instead to explain his situation of why he is not going to pay me. I have not yet received any letter from the company.
I live alone in a rented house. I have no money for rent, no food in my fridge, no gas in my car and am facing eviction.

The Ministry of Labour is handling my case (so they say), but they claim it may take anywhere from 8 to 9 months to begin the process.
