Don't Do It

Miscellaneous

I didn't see these postings in time. I fell for it. So if you are thinking... oh, well, maybe they can help me... Don't do it!!!

It's VERY expensive. They are VERY slick and fast and use all the right words. Warning - they use a lot of statistics and sound very professional.

But they don't help at all.

They give you a big binder full of reprinted articles. The advisor has a fixed script that focuses on networking as the only successful route to a good job. They are not up to speed on what you can do on the internet. The advisor does NOT deviate from the script no matter what your personal situation is. The advisor is in no way helpful.

So if you are thinking... oh, well, maybe it's worth it - just to be able to talk to someone about all this. Dont' do it!!!

No matter what your personal situation is - no matter what how your job search is going - the advisor says the same thing over and over. There is no actual personal response.

There were a couple of "workshops" and I could just tell everyone at the table just wanted to talk to each other... but we were discouraged from doing so because the advisor had a set program to finish.

No new advice. No help. No good leads. No actual training on how to get a job. Lot's of photocopied articles and lots of set speaches.

Don't do it.
