I won $250, 000 in a lottery drawing I never entered!!

Imagine my surprise when I opened an envelope addressed to me, with no return address, and out fell a "cashiers check" fror $4, 799.00! The enclosed letter states that I won the North American Millions Lottery. Apparently my name was attached to entry # NJ-714-5449 and drew the lucky numbers 01-02-11-25-33-17 and won category (A) as a result! The check was forwarded to me to pay any Legal, Insurance, taxes or processing fees I may encounter. I simply call one of their agebt/brokers for further instructions.

Naturally I'm ecstatic to have this windfall, especially since I never entered anything!!

It's quite obviously a scam... I'll cash the check and then send them a Cashiers check (payable from the funds in my account) to cover the "taxes" of $2, 900.00 plus any other "expenses" that the Agent/Broker will inform me of.

Of course this "Cashiers Check" will bounce after I've sent my check to them.

A word of warning... it is very tempting to deposit a large check received in the mail. Don't do it!! You will at the very least be charged a returned check fee and quirte possibly overdraft fees for any checks you write, plus have to cover the cashiers check you wrote from your personal funds. Since this "company" is in Canada, it's difficult or imposible for US authorities to do anything about it.

PS I'm not going to cash the cjeck, I'm not going to call the Agent/broker. I am going to report this to the Us Secret Service.
