, scam artist extroardinaire, will take your money and run!

There is a previous report here on this scumbag. Although we got wise to him before forwarding any money to him (c'mon, folks, send a deposit through Western Union? That's like asking someone to send snail mail by Pony Express!) we just decided we should add another post about this guy so that peolpe will steer clear of him in the future.

We found him when we posted looking for a web and logo designer on Craigslist. He claimed to have designed both choptsalad.com and havaianas.com, two absolutely gorgeous websites. Anyone would kill to have one of these guys design a look and a website for them. They are both mega talents.

Unfortunately for Mr. Webber, we exercised due diligence in the form of spending some time online to confirm (or deny) the authenticity of his claim to that design work. What I learned was that the web sites were designed by Andy Titus (choptsalad) and Adhemas Batista (havaianas), to great acclaim in the design world. When I contacted the people who were actually involved in the work I learned that this little creep has been using these men's work to rip people off for quite some time now. To date no one has stopped him. I am doing my best to do so.

When confronted, he emailed back, oh, OK, forget about the deposit. Which leads me to believe that, had we been willing to continue with him, he probably would have done what the did to the other guy... pretend he was completing the work, and beg for money before it was completely done. We just pulled the plug on him, and have never heard from him again.
