, Inc. deceptive company, super Consumer fraud, ripoff artists, WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO CONTINUE IN BUSINESS Champlain, NY, Canada and Beaconsfield, Quebec

I responded to an advertisement insert in Newsday and ordered one pair of Nordic Winter Boots. Sent check in amount of $17.90, December 2002 to JD Marvel Products, Dept. 721-109, Box 3270, Champlain, NY 12919. Check was cashed. I have cancelled check with stamps on back from banks in Canada and New Jersey.

Boots were never received. I wrote letter January 27, 2003 complaining about my problem and asking for my order status, or the boots. No response was received.

February 12, 2003, two months after placing order, sent second letter, no response received.

February 28, 2003 sent letter to Bureau of Consumer Fraud and Protection, Attorney General Elliot Spitzer's office.

Many phone calls were attempted to be made. Either there was no answer or a constant busy. This went on for many days at many different hours of the day and night. Must have made several dozen attempts to phone.

March 10, 2003 response from Attorney General Spitzer's office
saying complaint was forwarded to Plattsburgh office.

March 12, 2003 letter received from Plattsburgh office saying they would follow up and let me know.

April 1, 2003--nothing has happened to date, at least that is favorable or is a resolution of this outrageous ripoff.

Found this website and the dozens, if not hundreds of complains against this company, J.D. Marvel Products, Inc. I can only marvel that they are still permitted to continue in business ripping off hundreds of trusting consumers losing many thousands of dollars, most of which is very hard earned. When and how does the innocent, trusting consumer get a break?
