Affordable Programmers took programming code from other websites to sell to me, now refuse to respond to complaints

I contracted with Affordable Programmers to build a complicated business website that would take approximately 8 weeks to complete. I called and talked with Sophia (in sales) to discuss the programming and process. She sounded very knowledgeable and confident that she could complete our project.

After 5 weeks of difficult communications via email (everyone we worked with was a non-native English speaker) we stopped work on the project. We demanded to speak to a supervisor, but were told that Sophia was out for 2 weeks and we could wait until she returned-never mind we were on a time line and already weeks behind schedule.

Our so-called weekly updates were slow and reflected minimal work. We were paying $500.00 weekly, but were not seeing 40 - 50 hours of programming being performed. What we did see was a competitor's website information on our site. It appears that Affordableprogrammers.com 'cut and pasted' programming code from another website into our site. We were assured at the beginning that they only used original programming code written by them.

We have spoken to Sophia about our concerns and have requested a refund since we have no functioning website and no evidence that they can complete this task (ie. taking code from other sites does not instill confidence). She has not returned email, in fact, we have received no response in over a week. No one will even acknowledge our emails.
