RIPOFF AOL CHARGING FOR SERVICE AFTER CANCELLATION, SERVICE WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Internet & Web

AOL is continually trying to charge me $26.80 for service after I cancelled my dial up AOL service. The collection department is sending notices that I owe for one months service, even though it didn't work. I had placed several calls to the technical division at AOL (which they have not acknowledged) complaining about losing my connection constantly.

The technician was unable to resolve the problem and even if I got signed on at all, the computer simply froze or lost connection. I basically had very limited service, even the previous month of usage that I paid in full was lousy. I was told I had used the service and there was simply nothing they could do.

I explained that I was forced to get cable service which was connected in August due to the problems experienced with AOL. I phoned AOL and was put on hold three times for ten minutes saying that was I not going to pay for something that did not work properly.

Is this how AOL does business? I think they are getting rich trying to rip off the little guy.

I told the customer service representative that I was going to file a consumer complaints and he said it was nice talking to me.

I think that the representatives are programmed like robots and no matter what you say they just repeat "nice talking to you" and there is nothing we can do it's a valid charge.
