Misrepresented product repeatedly, offered no recourse. Ripoff!

I purchased a Motorola i530 cell phone at the Telus store in the mall. I was told it had GPS and would tell me my longitude and latitude by the salesman. I signed a 3 year contract with the company.

When I got home and tried using the GPS it did not work at all, It wouldn't refresh my position. I tried talking to tech support (an hour including wait time). After having them go through the usual stuff I'd already tried, they told me sometimes the GPS doesn't work at first and to wait a couple weeks.

After a few weeks without it working, I tried going to the mall for support. They talked to tech support themselves and were told I needed a firmware upgrade that wasn't available in Canada.

I tried calling Telus again and was told the upgrade should be available in a year or so. I asked why I had been told by the salesman that this phone had a GPS unit when it obviously doesn't work. The employee told me that the phone worked perfectly and that they couldn't control how long it took for Motorola to upgrade. I asked why their salesmen were saying the GPS worked when it doesn't currently. She said she couldn't control what the salesmen said.

I've tried going into a couple Telus stores since, including the one I got my phone from. Every time I ask about the phone I have (with no working GPS) I'm told it works great! This is without my telling them I've already got the phone.

So here I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't perform a function that they were advertising when I bought it, the very same function that they continue to advertise even though they obviously know it doesn't work.

I've never been offered a different phone in exchange or any form of redress whatsoever. What really gets to me is their continued insistance that the phoen works perfectly, and that it's not their fault a phone they sell has a currently unsupported feature.
