Robert Ironside - Bob Ironside
Damaged my guitar ripped me off did not provide services I paid for committed fraud!

I made the mistake of paying Bob Ironside AKA Robert Ironside to build and carve a custom guitar for me. He was advertising his services on MySpace. He recently had that MySpace account deleted, but he has a new one back up now. So I am writing this to warn everyone NOT to ever do business with him!

He did NOT provide ALL of the services I instructed him to do! I paid him $1, 500 to carve my guitar, and I paid him a additional $200 to install the hardware, dress the frets, drill the holes, install the nut and set it up etc.

First of all he admitted to me in a email that the guitar was knocked off his table and was damaged when it fell to the floor. He admitted that to me, and I have that email as evidence.

He said he fixed the guitar, but he lied! When I got the guitar it was very badly damaged, the back and side edges had numerous black markings, scratches, dents, indentaions in the wood and chips, and blemishes to the finish.

He did NOT properly have the guitar insured with UPS when he shipped it! I instructed him to insure it for $3, 500, I have that email saved as evidence as well. He only had it insured for $200!

I instructed him to ship it OVERNIGHT using MY UPS account I had set up for the sole purpose of this. He shipped it GROUND using HIS UPS accuont! He did all of those things and he continues to LIE about them all!!!

He has not even bothered contacting UPS! I called UPS and the management there confirmed with me that Bob is in fact telling me lies!

When I called Bob Ironside on the phone to confront him with these lies that UPS caught him in, he hung up on me in mid sentence!

When I asked Bob Ironside to give me a partial refund to pay for the damages that he caused he refused! Not only did he refuse, but he put up a Blog on MySpace where he then went on to Slander me and make up lies!

I asked Bob Ironside to do the RIGHT thing and to pay for his mistakes and wrong doings by giving me a partial refund of the $1, 700 I paid him and he refused, and he is actually accussing me of trying to blackmail and extort money from him now!!! Since when did asking for a just refund ever become blackmail and extortion???

Not only did Bob damage the body of my guitar, but he also broke the tuner on my guitar! I've already had to pay $46 to get a new tuner out of my own pocket for the guitar! Then I will have to pay someone here to repair all of his other damage to the guitar! Bob Ironside wrote me in a email telling me that he thinks it will cost at least $500 to repair the damage!

Bob Ironside also did a poor job packing the guitar! He did not pack it securely as he was instructed! In fact he stole the blankets I sent him to use to pack it with!

Bob also did not set the guitar up with the correct strings, the action was not properly set up, the frets were not dressed, polished, leveled and crowned, the nut was not correctly filed for the gauge strings I use.

I also have emails where Bob Ironside has admitted to NOT having a business license and also admitting to the fact that he has NOT been paying any taxes on this income he's making carving guitars to the Canada Revenue Service!

Since Bob Ironside would not communicate to me through email or over the phone in a attempt to come up with a resolution to this problem, I had no other choice than to take pictures of the damage, take videos of the damage, and put them up on a website so EVERYONE can see what they will get if they make the mistake of doing business with Bob Ironside!
