As an instructor with Sylvan, I found that I ws often told not to come because the parents had cancelled. Instead of being paid for my scheduled time, I was told i would not get paid, even though it was a minimal amount. Also from an educational point, the tutoring is 3 to 1 and is not for a full hour because they have the "transition time" for te last 10 minutes of each hour. It would be better to find a tutor from the local high school or college in order to get help for the student. Sylvan is not the answer as a student or an instructo
