Ripoff gem stones! Ontaria

My father was approached some time ago by a company called Windsor Cairns. The outfit appeared reputable. My father invested a 5 figure sum in 3 'gem stones'.

He decided he wanted to sell the stones recently however had difficulty contacting the firm. Since then he has given money to a company called Can - Am to place the stones for sale on their web site. He has heard nothing and has received no offers for these supposed gems.

He has also been contacted by Crown Equity who advised him that they have a buyer for his stones but they only work on a trade in basis and wanted him to buy an emerald carving. Card details were exchanged but on the strict understanding that no money was to be taken until my father had received confirmation via post of the carving etc. Despite assurances given by Crown Equity funds were taken and this highlighted his concerns.

He has since discussed the situation with me and thanks to your website we now know that he has been well and truly scammed. At least your website and consumer complaints stopped him being hit for even more money. He has been invited to have dinner with Diko Kkatcherian and I am trying to persuade him that he should go and at least get dinner out of the man but he is worried that he will be unable to restrain himself and will end up on assault charges.

We now believe that his investment is worthless. It looks as though we can buy similar size gems on ebay for around $20 my father is in the fortunate position whereby he has only suffered embarassment. Hopefully he will be able to save some other poor souls from more serious consequences.
