Scam lette

I received an official looking letter on 19th January 2008 telling me that I was the sole winner of 9, 000 and that if I sent them 19.95 within 7 days I would recieve a certified cheque, in addition ther was some nonsence about a diamond and sapphire pendant.

I'm not stupid, certain things about the letter did not add up. If I was the SOLE winner, why was the letter computer generated? Hadn't I heard of these scams from Canada before?

BUT, 9.000, what if it was genuine, wouldn't you always think, 'what if it had been true and I missed out on nine grand. "DONT BE STUPID!!! " I ignored all those voices in my head yelling at me ITS A SCAM. ITS A SCAM, and to make matters worse, I sent the payment by credit card. Yes I Mr Sensible gave all my Credit Card details to a complete stranger by post somewhere in Canada.

Luckily, after I had planned which debts I would pay off and which new motorbike I would get (a Pan European) I came to my sences and realised what a fool I had been. I telephoned my credit card company and put an immediate stop on the card.

Unfortunately they tell me they may not be able to stop the payment but if it does go through, I should be able to claim it back, yeah right, fat chance I would have when dealing with a bunch of scam artists like this lot. Just praying that they can only take to 19.95 and not clear my card out, fingers crossed for the next few days.

THE MORAL:
Dont be a numpty, you know you dont get sommat for nutting!!!
If it seems too good to be true, IT IS
Come on, your a sensible person, you know its a scam, dont give in to greed, desperation whatever.
