I received a letter in snail mail today. It claims that i have won $100, 000 in a 2nd category sweepsteaks. This letter came with a check for $6, 650 in which i would use some of this check to pay insurance and what have you totaling $5, 350 and the rest of the money would come in 48 hrs. care of ups or fed-ex

This is a serious scam..i called the bank the check was issued on and got no where so i called third avenue funds which is a very real company..they checked it out for me and verfied the check was a fake and they have had quite an issue with this claim... please do not fall for this scam. the companies are real and they are trying to get to the bottom of this scam.

I have reported this to the bbb and to third avenue and to pnc bank I pray they catch whoever or whatever is doing this scam..
