Education & Science

I received a letter in the mail, no big deal. I opened it and there is a check enclosed for $2395.00. The check is suppose to ensure your approval for a lump sum winning of $100, 000.00, supposedly your share from a $3, 000, 000, 000.00 for which your name was randomly drawn by a computer ballot system from over 500, 000 names. Your suppose to call the man before you do anything with the check. Right away he will tell you that his system is down and that you need to call back. There is a telephone number on the check, which is listed here as the FAX number; so I called it while I waited and I got an answering service if you will, with the same accent in a womans voice letting me know that the funds were "available". I also checked the Internet to see if I could find any of the information. I found another number for PeoplesTrust Bank and let them know I received a letter. BEFORE I could finish my sentence, he "guessed" pretty much the rest of my letter - TO THE PROMISED DOLLAR! Knowing this I still called back to see just how far this man would go with his scam. He first asked for all my information and Congratulated me on my winnings. He then asked if my bank was still open becaue he wanted me to "IMMEDIATELY rush to my bank and deposit the check and then call him right back! " So I said, "Well I didn't personally enter any sweepstakes or contests, so how did you get my information? " He asked me, "Are you a frequent shopper at Wal-Mart? Because we got your information from there." Well I do shop there but I always pay with cash, so how did he really get my information?! By now I can't contain myself any longer, so I told him, "I made a few calls and I know your running a scam." He says, "If you know that I am running a scam why do you call back? " I told him, "So I could see just how far you would go with this scam and report you! " He hung up the phone. So all out there be careful of the PUBLISHING CLEARING HOUSE RESOURCES MANAGEMENT scam. Yeah this David Jacques claims he is the Claims/Disbursement Agent. There is also a Allan Piere listed as the Promotions Agent.
