Ripoff sent fraudulent check for $970

I was sent a letter and check for $970.00 w/ letter saying I won $55, 000 and to call ph # to activate check. Called to see about it and a man named John Brown said to deposit check in my account and send money order in amount of $870 back to him and then I will get $55, 000.

Bank check is fraudulent!!! Do not deposit it into your account because it will come back and they will have your money!! Phone number works but a man with a heavy India accent is very hard to understand.

I asked him for ph # of bank the check was drawn from so I could see if it is good and he never called back. Said I won from using a credit card???

PLEASE BEWARE!! My 19 yr old son also got check with letter and it was very difficult to convince him it was a scam...
