Steel City Renovators, Peter Moore failed to perform as per contract, failure is costing us an additional $10, 000

Entered into contract with full assurences of quality work to build add a room to our daughter's house.
Work started late, proceeded haphazardly. We had paid up front for certain materials and they sat in yard awaiting use. Excavation of foundation finally began, foundation was set and poured. This work was excellent due to use of skilled sub trades. Thereafter work was slow, when any was done, and we had to push Peter Moore a number of times to get work moving faster. At one point we had him to our house and gave him a good talking to. He was chagrined and promised faithfully to to move quickly to completion; this was revealed as a crock of!!

With patience exhausted I called and found an employee in posession of Peter's cell phone. I gave this employee a clear and unequivocal message that the job was to be finished and I would be happy to see the back of Peter and his crew. I also callled Peter's home phone and left a similar message. The following morning aforesaid employee was at the house and entered the addition, without my daughter's knowledge, and collected material not fastened down. We later learned that Peter gave him this instruction as he alleged he had been threatened. Our response was one of disbelief, NO threat of any kind had been made, we had simply been blunt.

Police were called to report theft of material but as we did not have invoices for the material in question we could not proceed. The work had ALL been paid for and Peter abandoned the job. He was advised that our intention was to get another contractor and sue Peter Moore et al, and SteelCity Renovators for the additional costs we would incur. Poorly done and incompleted work is too extensive to be included here.

We are suing thru' Provincial Small Claims Court for the cost of having another contractor make good shoddy work and to complete work left by SteelCity Renovators. Our allegations of poor and incomplete workmanship have been denied (what a surprise) and allegations of unpaid monies have been levelled against us. These claims by SteelCity Renovators are quite unfounded and will be dismissed in Court.
