Fake Parking Ticket

I received a letter from Imperial Parking Canada Corporation today in the mail for an unpaid parking ticket on August 8, 2008 for 68.90. When I opened it I was surprised because I had renewed my liscences in July and knew that I had not received any parking tickets since them.

The location of the offence was on the ticket, so I looked it up on the internet and knew that I had never parked there. They said that they had left a ticket on my car, but I had never received one. They also stated that this was my "Final Notice", but I again, had never received an original notice of any kind.

I called the 1 800 number, but they were closed. I keep a calendar of all the events and jobs that I do, so I went to my computer and checked where I was on that date. To my surprise, I was not even in the city that day, I was out of town at a family reunion... hmmmm

I then typed the Parking Corp into google and the second reference was this web-site with somone who had received a fake ticket from the same company.

I will be calling the Corporation the next business day, and the Police to find out what action I can take...
