2 years ago, i purchased a set of fabricated valve covers off of a company called Procomp electronics. I believe i paid 125 dollars for the set. Not a bad price, not to mention they were already baffled.
Than, a year after that, i bought an electric water pump off the same company, for a very good price as well. This was where they went sour with me.
Once i put 12 volts to the pump, water started pouring out of every seal and gasket on this thing. No good. After 2 trips to the store, and a few hours rebuilding thias thing, it finally worked.
That same month, i was at the race track, and all of the sudden, i hear a noise coming from my engine. Coming right from the cylinder head to be exact. I thought, "there goes a rocker arm/valve spring/etc...". So i pop off the valve cover, and what comes out? The baffle on my PROCOMP ELECTRONICS valve cover.
I recently contacted this company, and they do not want anything to do with my problem. First of all, you should NEVER have to completely rebuild a part you have just bnought brand new. Secondly, welds SHOULD NOT break. If they do, the welder is novice, and should go back to a training class.
Lesson to learn? Do not go for the cheap part, because it WILL fail you. Procomp electronics is the cheap part. Trust me, because i am one to learn the hard way. Do not go the same route, just buy brand name
