XS Cargo - Advertising
Fraudulant/Deceptive advertising

Business & Finance

I watch for Flyers online. XS Cargo has repeatedly (at least three in a row) produced flyers for which there was never any stock. I selected up to 4-6 items (electronics mostly) and drove a considerable distance to meet the door opening on the day of the flyer. No disclaimers, price tickets on empty shelves where items never existed. Complaints to custservice@xscargo.com go unnoticed. Complaints to the Competition Board of Canada are logged, but there are insufficient complaints from others to take immediate action. They draw you to the store, unfairly offer items they do not have, and if/when they do get the items, it is well past the *sale price* flyer. In the real sense this amounts to false advertising, and is contrary to the Competition Board rules for fair marketing practices. People should be aware that the only XS Cargo location in Nova Scotia is in Bayers Lake, and there is rarely stock sent to that store, if in fact, at any store. Some people just shurk and say "That's why I never shop there" so the store gets away with it, week after week, flyer after flyer. One item not available on 24 Dec 2010, was advertised in the Boxing Week Flyer, and the store manager was well aware that they had no stock, and never did. They just keep putting up stickers on empty shelves advertising products they never carried. Around the corner, other Electronic stores are trying to compete with imaginary items that appear to be real *deals*. XS Cargo needs to have a shake up, and some consumer activity to report them to the competition board.
