Consumer's Reward Program Lottery is a Scam - Do not cash!!!

Business & Finance

We received this letter today from Kingsway Financial indicating that there had been a ticket entered in my name which ultimately won the lottery in the second category. I wondered what other categories there were and how my name had been entered.

The letter then stated that I had been approved for the lump sum payment of $39, 000 credited to an account with the above claim number. It didn't say to be deposited to an account of my choosing. Suspicious!! They even indicated that someone had tried to contact me on October 8, 2008 and failed. Then they ask that I keep this award from public notice until my claims have been finalized.

The next paragraph lamely describes how my name was selected, which I did not believe.

Most enticingly of all, they indicate that they have deducted $3, 900 from my total prize to enable me to pay for the applicable tax. The cashier's check looks awfully real. Then they provide contact agents with a (905) phone number.

I was immediately suspicious of the validity of this letter and searched google for "Consumer's Lottery".

The Google search led me to "Rip-0ff Reports" and the submission of this report.
